Global Deterministic Prediction System GRIB data
2004-04
The Meteorological Service of Canada makes this GRIB2 format database available to private sector meteorologists, academics, and the general public. It contains data from analysis systems along with output from many of the Canadian Meteorological Centre's Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models. The Global model is run on a 0.3 degree latitude by 0.25 degree resolution grid. The fields in the high resolution global GRIB dataset are made available on a 601x301 latitude-longitude grid at a resolution of .6x.6 degrees, which corresponds to about 66 km resolution. The grid is truncated at 90 degrees North and 90 degrees South. The fields in the high resolution polar-stereographic 30 km global dataset are made available on a 247x200 Polar-Stereographic grid covering North America and adjacent waters with a 30 km resolution at 60N.
